Part-time job experience!

Lately I decided that I need to start earning my pocket money, and the best way to do it is to find myself a job. A part-time job I mean, because as international students we can’t be fully employed, but just 10 hours per week. For sure I didn’t expect something fancy, but at the same time I wanted to enjoy what I would be doing. That’s how I found myself looking for jobs in Manchester. The process was challenging, but it was an amazing life experience. That is why I thought that you would be interested in this and I came up with several pieces of advice that would be useful for you.

The first thing you need is to get a National Insurance Number, which is a unique number that is assigned to your specific person. You can do this by calling 0845 600 0643 (National Employment NINO) and you will have a small interview where you will have to provide some personal data. Afterwards, they will send you by post the documents that will have to be filled out. Finally send them back everything. Congrats! The first step is done. In 2-3 weeks you’ll get your National Insurance Number.

The second thing you need to do is to write a proper CV. I won’t explain you how to do that as there are plenty of examples on the internet, all you have to do is to google them.

And finally, the last step is to send all your CVs to the shop, hotel, restaurant, or pub you want. You can send them by mail or get them in person. Guys do not think they will fire Steve Jobs, and hire you as the next CEO of Apple Inc. For the majority of you it’s your first job, so the maximum you’ll get the position of the assistant of the assistant of chief helper of the assistant . Anyway, do not forget that we still have plenty of time to become executive directors of major companies, so for now we have to have fun and enjoy our stay at Manchester. Speaking about fun after finishing all these steps you can finally go and celebrate will your friends at a local pub as the application process is over. The only thing you have to do is hold tight your phone and wait for calls from your future employers.
Hope this helped and see you around 
